Burners Without Borders and the LA League of Arts
have joined in facilitating a community garden project in South Central Los Angeles at George Washington Carver Middle School. Carver Garden Alliance is a joined effort between Los Angeles Unified School District, Mayor Antonio Villaragosa, Service Masters, Tree People, Land Images, A&G Construction and OC97.
Our goal is to show children, parents, and community members how they can create food, joy, and abundance from almost nothing, by choosing to look a the world around them differently.
We are building community and parent involvement in a meaningful way at the school through the creation of a sustainable garden and art installation. Following Permaculture principles, we are helping to install a sustainable, low water use garden with an outdoor learning space for students to collaborate with faculty, parents and local community members.
This is a fantastic project that will continue to have unforseen ripple effects well into the future.
Please participate by making a generous donation towards completion of the project.
